Phlebotomy (Blood Tests)
The practice employs two trained phlebotomists who are in the surgery each morning to take blood for blood tests.
Appointments at this clinic are by doctor referral only.
Reception And Administrative Staff
The practice presently employs 12 staff covering reception, secretarial and administrative duties. They are there to help you in complete confidence with your enquiries and requests. Please give them sufficient details so that they may assist you as efficiently as possible. Their job is very demanding and often they are very busy so please be patient.
Community District Nurses
The district nurses care for patients who need nursing at home. The doctor will make a referral if necessary.
Medical Education
We are a teaching practice and have qualified doctors who are training to become family doctors, as well as medical students. Occasionally a medical student or additional doctor may be present when you consult your doctor. A receptionist will inform you if this is the case. However, if you prefer to see your doctor alone this can easily be arranged. Occasionally consultations are video-taped for educational and research purposes but your permission will always be sought before the consultation and if you have any objection the recorder will be switched off.
Staff Protection
A zero tolerance policy towards violent, threatening and abusive behaviour is now in place throughout the NHS. The staff in this practice has the right to do their work in an environment free from such behaviour and everything will be done to protect that right. At no time will any violent, threatening or abusive behaviour be tolerated in this practice. If you do not respect the rights of our staff we may choose to inform the police and make arrangements for you to be removed from our medical list.
